Gordon Ryan never shies away from controversy, and his latest Instagram experiment is no exception. The submission grappling GOAT posted yesterday about testing Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok on First Amendment principles, and let’s just say the results weren’t what anyone expected.
“AI experiment. Apparently, grok thinks the 1st Amendment only counts…” Ryan posted to his 997K+ Instagram followers, sharing what appears to be a screenshot of his interaction with the AI system.
The post exploded overnight, racking up 4,800+ likes and 677 comments in just 11 hours – proving once again that when Gordon speaks, the grappling world listens (whether they want to or not).

When Grapplers Meet AI
While most athletes stick to training videos and sponsor posts, Ryan’s always been different. The New Jersey native has never been one to avoid political topics, and his latest foray into AI testing shows he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
The timing is particularly interesting given the current debates around AI censorship and free speech online. Ryan’s experiment appears to have revealed some inconsistencies in how Grok handles First Amendment discussions – though the full details of his test remain mysteriously vague in typical Gordon fashion.
